The Worst Way to Spend an Afternoon. . .

IN THE ER!!!

Katherine woke up from her nap with a raging fever of 103.8. We called her hematologist and were recommended to go to the emergency room for bloodwork. Of course it took all afternoon for the confirmation that her bilirubin is up and her red count is down. All very obvious since she was yellow and lethargic.

The funny part is that the doctor tried to dismiss my claims that I had the flu and Katherine was probably also sick with the flu. He seemed surprised when he came back with the nose swab test result indicating she did in fact have influenza. Always trust the mom.

Katherine was a trooper though. She said "thank you" to everyone, even the woman who stuck her with a needle. Whenever the aid took her temperature she said, "thank you for helping."

Poor girl! She is so sweet and brave. Hope she will feel better soon. Are you feeling any better? So, who was the crazy person in DisneyWorld with a flu? I'm sure you got it from there.

Either Disneyland or the plane. Germs fiestas at both places.

Hope you guys are back in shape soon.
